Adam's Story
Diagnosed with a tumor in his brainstem and spinal cord at the age of ten, Adam suffered from Quadriplegia after an extensive operation to remove the majority of his tumor. He made the most of what movement he had to go on to live an active outdoor life, graduate high school, and earn a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Kean University. He loved to travel with family and friends. He was a man of strong faith in God and a kindness that touched everyone who met him. Despite his physical limitations he was determined to lead as normal a life as possible. Losing Adam to Covid was devastating for our family as well as his many friends. We are honored to be able to celebrate his memory in a way that will help special needs students for years to come. About the Scholarship Adam’s disability gave us an insight as to the additional challenges and expenses incurred when putting a special needs student through higher education. For this reason, our scholarships will be open to students of Brick High School with an assortment of challenges, skills, and needs. Scholarships will be awarded to defray the cost of attending College, Technical, or Trade School. Below is a link to the scholarship application. Please complete and email it to: [email protected] |
